Yes that is Jar Jar Binks at the party, kids were not allowed to bring their regualar light sabers, well you can guess why. All that was important was for Derek to have fun, his friends and his siblings and it worked some how. Check out Derek with his Cake below (missing a tooth), great smile. I wrote below about the activities but the summary is party was fun,even my dad stopped by at party.

WOW! What a party! I think I would have been too scared to enter the cave. What brave little boys. Sounds like Derek had an awesome birthday party.
Kyler had so much fun at the party. He is so happy Derek is his friend.
