Peter Breinholt Concert in the Park

Here's me and Lindsey at the concert in the park. We went with the Klands and some other families that we knew were there. The kids were content for about 5 minutes and then the meltdowns began. I should have known they would be crazy by the time it started at 7 pm (their bedtime is usually 7:45 or so). I managed to enjoy a few songs, however. It was like a blast from the past, ah, freshman year at BYU with you-know-who. We left about half way through and the kids got a good lecture on the car ride home. Maybe someday...

Here are a few pictures of some of the random events of our week. In the first one, Derek is reading to Miranda. They were both furiously trying to finish their summer reading charts so they could get their prizes at the library on Thursday.
In the second picture, Derek is doing the long jump at a open track meet they have locally. I love the rake-guy's expression.
In this third picture, the kids are getting ready for bed and taking Lindsey for a final thrill ride of the evening. She just loves being pushed around the house in that wagon!

The final picture is of the kids at our ward campout. I took Lindsey in the pack, and the other three followed us, exploring a few of the trails by our campsite. We had a lot of fun camping and socializing and the rain wasn't too bad either. Now we just have to sort through the mound of stuff in the garage!

Camping at Silver Creek Falls

So, we all had a fabulous time this past weekend camping with our good friends, the Klands, and a few other families. We did two hikes- and the kids did amazingly well. I think it helped that they had friends to keep their minds off of all the walking! Lindsey enjoyed peeking over my shoulder and looking at everything. Miranda and Derek loved running ahead with Emily and David Kland and holding hands with them. (It was so cute!) We were all exhausted by the time we got home, but isn't that what camping with kids is all about?

The Lean Machine

As you can see I am losing weight fast, this all started when my blood pressure was on the way to really bad, above 140. So I used a weight loss competition to get me motivated, I eat better and lots of exercise. Last week I ran some +30 miles, swam some and played basketball 3 times. I also do sit-ups, little weight lifting and stretching. So I started at 165lbs (last year I was app in April and I am down to 138 lbs. My goal was 149 lbs but I am in 3rd place in the competition with large prizes on the line, here is a link to the competition. 2nd place is trip to Mexico, 1st is season BYU tickets and trip to Mexico and 3rd is an I-pod. Competition ends on BYU 1st football game. Peter wanted me to post pics. Oh yea doctor says I am doing good and I can keeping going till I’m 120lbs, that might be hard and my blood pressure is now normal. aproching 180 lbs.

Here we are at my grandma's house in Utah. Her birthday is on the fourth of July- she's now 81, and didn't take much coaxing at all to get into her swimsuit and go down the slip and slide like all of her great-grandkids! (By the way, she was the only person over 12 that did it-- Go Grandma!)

Here are some pictures of the fun Park where Larry and my dad took the kids while I went shopping with my mom and sister. Make sure to look closely at the animal picture- Spencer has such a funny expression. They all loved the go carts and even the minature golf. Miranda got a hole-in-one!!

Here is Part of Utah trip at a historical farm where kids rode horses, Miranda milked a cow! and learned a lot about animal furs

Our trip to Utah was awesome the kids had alot of fun. We went swimming in Bear Lake and made lots of sand castles and played in the water. The weather was like 95 everyday but swimming and playing outside in the morning and night and inside during the day.
Lindsey was fascinated with the sand and even played in the cold water for a little while. Derek and Miranda had a ball playing with their cousins during the trip. It usually involved Derek and his cousin Tyler trying to sabotage their female cousins' games.

Hello blogging world! We have jumped on the bandwagon of blogging. I will attempt to post some Easter pictures.
